FAQ’s

What is the Golden Visa Portugal Program and is it still valid in Portugal?

Yes, the Golden Visa Program remains valid. It is a residency program via investments made in Portugal, allowing the application for the Portuguese / European residency and/or citizenship after the fifth year. By investing in Portugal, you and your family have freedom to live and work in Portugal and other Schengen countries, totaling 27 European countries. Over 12,000 program participants and more than 20,000 family members have already obtained their Golden Visa.

Given the scenario of conflicts and uncertainties worldwide, what are the advantages of ensuring the global mobility option?

Portugal stands out as one of the best options, as the Portuguese passport is the 4th most widely accepted globally, recognized in 188 countries. Here are the top 3 reasons to consider investing in global mobility ("Plan B"):

- Cultural enrichment: living in different parts of the world broadens horizons, providing unique cultural experiences that enrich individual and family life;

- Professional development and networking: global professional opportunities not only expand your skills, but also your personal and professional networking;

- Expanded educational perspectives for the family: global mobility offers diverse educational opportunities, exposing the family to different educational systems and enriching their understanding of the world.

What changed in the Golden Visa Portugal Program after the publication of the new law in Oct/2023?

With the publication of Law 56/2023 on last Oct/06, investments in real estate purchases are no longer eligible for the program. The program is now restricted to investments in income generation, including the InVino Fund. Thus, the era of real estate acquisitions under the Golden Visa Program has ended, giving way to a new era of strategic investments in sustainable income generation, like the InVino Fund.

Is the InVino Fund still eligible for the Golden Visa Program?

Yes, the InVino Fund meets all the necessary requirements to qualify for the Golden Visa Program, as per the Management Regulations, including:
- Registration with Portuguese regulatory entities, i.e., CMVM;
- Fund life exceeding the mandatory minimum of 5 years;
- Allocation of at least 60% of capital to investments in Portuguese companies;
- No direct or indirect investment in the real estate market.
In addition to meeting all these requirements, the InVino Fund confirms its eligibility for the program through a legal opinion from a renowned Portuguese law firm.

How is the ESG approach implemented in practical terms?

Aligning eco & wine tourism with the best ESG practices is one of the InVino Fund pillars, and therefore a mandatory criteria when choosing where to invest and how to operate. Sustainability practices are present at each stage of the projects and throughout the operations of the invested businesses. For more information, click here

What does the InVino Fund's investment thesis in eco & wine tourism mean?

The InVino Fund invests in companies with the concept of transforming working farms and heritage sites (e.g., vineyards, olive groves, cork forest, manor houses) into sustainable resorts, offering a full eco & wine-based experience where guests will enjoy unique F&B hospitality based on a true “bio-farm to table” and perfectly adapted to the post-Covid world. The developments shall be in line with the best sustainable practices and focus on generating impact, creating new jobs, balancing the social and regional asymmetries, preserving nature and local traditions, among others.
